Patients-Reported Oral Manifestations in Coeliac Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases: An Italian Survey

Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBDs), including Ulcerative Colitis (UC), Crohn’s Disease (CD), Irritable Syndrome (IBS), and Coeliac (CoD), primarily affect the intestinal tract but show some extra-intestinal manifestations affecting skin, joints, liver, pancreas, lungs. The aim of this survey was to define how often these conditions oral manifestation. study involved 46 patients 56 recruited at beginning, with a mean age 42 ± 13.64 sex distribution 67.4% (31) female 32.6% (15) male. Everyone sent questionnaire four multiple-choice questions about type their bowel disease, time diagnosis, major symptoms which led disease discover, finally symptoms. According results, 65.52% referred manifestations, especially canker sores burning sensation. involvement suggests that multidisciplinary management therapy are mandatory, close monitoring follow-up interfacing other specialists. Finally, dental practitioners have be aware possible effect in IBDs CoD patients.
